Ryan Tacata is working on a PhD in Drama at Stanford University. He worked briefly towards a MFA at The Experimental Performance Institute with an emphasis in Queer Activist Performance (2007) and holds a BFA (2007) in performance from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His current research is invested in bridging critical theory with performance architecture through feminist and queer investigations of dwelling, place and paratheatrical space. Other interests include the postdramatic, postcolonial theory, the economics of live-art and (re)examing site specificity in performance.
